Founded in 2012 by former Honeywell and Danaher executive Sergio Cecutta, the company focused on the founder’s network of contacts in the Aerospace, Defense and Clean Tech industries to sign on the first clients, delivering detailed, actionable results on time, and on budget.
Since the very beginning, SMG Consulting has considered its customers as partners, sharing the risk of the projects, listening actively to understand the customer needs and always tying outcomes to specific deliverables.
Throughout the years, the Phoenix-based company has expanded its footprint to California, another Aerospace industry top 10 state. SMG Consulting has also continuously expanded its client base worldwide to include Europe, Asia and the Middle East. While Aerospace and Defense remain the two main markets, the company has expanded to Automotive, as the new trends of electrification and autonomy are bringing the three industries closer and closer. In Aerospace, SMG Consulting has been a pioneer in the field of Advanced Air Mobility, being a participant since the first Uber Elevate conference in 2017.
From its origins, the company has grown to a team of international seasoned experts across commercial and product areas. It can also count on an extended worldwide network of engineering experts (i.e. airworthiness, avionics, flight controls and flights test) when the client requires technical expertise.
SMG Consulting is a member of the Vertical Flight Society, GAMA and NBAA. The company works with several organizations like NASA, US Air Force, FAA and EASA.
Finally, the company is involved in mentoring programs at several colleges as it is a strong believer in the development of the next generation of Aerospace and Automotive talent.
